I have swithed on my PC at home this morning and am getting this message and a blue screen.

Is my PC doomed or can it be fixed.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I have a compaq running xp home and do nothave a disk. I was supplied with a recovery disk, can I use this or should I download the six floppies worth of stuff that is mentioned?

Download the floppies

Recovery disk no good. Downloading the floppies seems your only option.

alan, i am on my PC at work and don't have access rights so cant download the floppies after all.

Will my recovery disk do the trick do you think?
