Unknown Virus Attack

  Woof 11:00 25 Mar 05

I am writing this on behalf of my son who has no way of getting out to the internet using Internet Explorer because he does not want to infect others with a possible virus.

He has no way of identifying the problem because the virus has turned off his 'AVG' anti virus program.

The major problem is if he tries to get onto the internet for say 'saphos' or any other virus help site it directs him to say the 'BBC' home page or some other bookmarked site.

He thinks its something called 'Bagle' but can't be sure.

My advice to him is - save all you can and reprogram (XP) but I have a small problem with this - what if the virus is in the BIOS?

Any help gratefully received. Woof
