unknown stuff on the hard drive

I've been using dikeeper lite for a while now to defragment my hard drive, other users will know that it provides a key to the symbols used.

I noticed today on running diskeeper that there is a huge amount of 'reserved' system space, I haven't noticed this before, the amount of 'reserved' space appears to be bigger than all of my files put together which would be around 14gb.
Does anyone know what this reserved space is for?

thanks

xp pro
AMD 3200
120gb hd
1gb ddr 400
radeon 9800 pro

System Restore as far as I know.

You can check how much space is allocated to System Restore if you richt-click My Computer, Properties, System Restore tab.

is your xp pro an oem version? if so it could be pre loaded to restore to factory settings

6410 mb is allocated to system restore, The hard drive is one I bought a while ago - there are no partitions and xp pro is from a cd that I purchased last year so there's no factory settings partition.

I've never noticed this amount of system space reserved before.
