uninstall problem

I have a hewlitt packard scanner and have recently upgraded from Windows ME to Windows XP and have had to update the scanner. The problem now is that I can't uninstall it from my Programmes list; it's not in Add/Delete anymore but when I try to get to it through Start>Programmes, it says 'access denied'. How can I resolve this problem and get it up and running again?

So you want to remove the entry in the start menu programs list?

Or do you want to uninstall the scanner software and start again?

Are you logged on as Administrator when you try and do this?

Also you could start your computer in SAFE MODE and do whatever you want in safe mode.

To start the computer in safe mode. Just restart your computer and keep tapping the F8 key then choose SAFE MODE and do what you want from there.

Thanks, I'll try the safe mode option, although what I want is to delete the software and start again; obviously something is not A-OK
