underline on e-mail address

someone gave an e-mail address to my niece that had 2 letters underlined. i don't mean an underscore between letters. she was told the 2 letters must have the line underneath. how on earth do i do that. even if i type it in word and copy/paste into outlook express, the underline is not copied. whether into address book, or send to line in new message. any ideas?

I don't think that it is correct... email addresses generally have to be regular letters, numbers and a few other characters. Try it without the underline and see what happens.

thanx. she must be telling me wrong. she insists it is not an underscore between letters, but my guess is that is it.
