uncheck win xp authentication before updating

I need to know how to uncheck authentication before downloading updates

And your reason for wanting to do this please? G

It is up to the user I would imagine if he wants to do this or not.
If not Microsoft will has its own way of dealing with anyone not using authentication.
Just run the updates manually and untick The one that says Microsoft authentication update and if you do not want to see it again double click it and tick don't show again in the box that opens underneath.
I believe Microsoft gives you 30 days to authenticate XP and will switch it off after that date so that you can no longer use it.

After 30 days it will boot to the logon screen.
Attempting to go further results in the authentication dialogs.

Input/change/phone MS etc.

If you cannot input a correct code or Cancel, you are returned to the Logon screen.

"It is up to the user I would imagine if he wants to do this or not."

Well, vinylzappa could have been wanting to download & install all updates without ever wanting to activate Windows. Hence I feel my query was a fair one. G
