Unaccessible Windows Explorer

I run Windows ME on a 2001 Evesham desktop. When I click on Windows Explorer, I get My Documents and no search facility. Why and how do I revert to Explorer? Many thanks.

If you goto start, run, explorer.exe - does that bring up explorer 4 u ? If so just create a new shortcut on your desktop pointing to it

It still gives me My Documents, no change.

Right click the icon, Properties. Change what is in the Target box to

C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe /n,/e,C:
and click OK.

VoGtm. I did as you suggest but got the reply
'The name in the target box is not valid. Make sure the path and filename are correct.'

Have you done a search for explorer.exe to see if it is on your drive. And then create a shortcut. Right click on explorer (in the search box)and create shortcut. When it says "cannot create a shortcut here, do you want the shortcut on the desktop, click on yes.

Try Windows key plus E

Terminator. It created a new icon on desktop called Explorer 2, clicking on which produced My Docs.
Woodchip. Win+E did nothing

See if click here helps.

VoGtm. Each target field suggested results in
'The name in the target field is not valid'

Us Restore, or rerun setup of WinME over it's self
