Unable to view some websites

After re-installing windows xp home, I cannot view the sites, btopenworld.com/default, halifax-online.co.uk, or google.co.uk. I dont recieve any messages and the progress bar sometimes completes. All other sites appear to be working normally. Any advice would be apprieciated.

Check tools/internet options / privacy /advanced make sure auto cookie handling is not ticked & cookies are not blocked

Recheck your configuration settings in Privacy and Security in IE (see Microsoft's comprehensive roundup at: click here).

If this doesn't work then try Proxomitron - it's in the downloads section or key it into google - and, if you install it, ensure that you follow its configuration details to the letter...:-)

I had the same problem last year and my son, an IT support specialist, immediately knew what was the cause and that Promomitron would cure it.

It's all to do with adverts, popups etc.
