Unable to view images and gifs on websites

I have just installed XP Pro and am unable to view some (not all) web site images and gif animations dont work. When I look at the properties of the offending images they have a jpg extension but type, size, created and modified are unavailable. This is not only in IE6 but also Mozilla.

Any ideas anyone.

Thanks in advance.

You may already have checked this:

Open IE, Tools, Internet Options, Advanced, then scroll down to Multimedia, "show pictures"; ensure that there is a tick against it.

I know nothing about Mozilla, so cannot comment.

Maybe your XP firewall is blocking stuff, have you disabled it?

It was Zone Alarm. I had "Remove Private Header information" ticked

I removed the tick and it was OK.

And another site with animated gifs had "Block animation" ticked.

Thanks for all your help

Mike
