I have a HP 4380 all in one wireless printer/scanner. I am using a Toshiba satellite L3500-215 laptop running windows7. Unless I turn my firewall off (AVG 9 full paid for version) I am unable to scan to my computer although I am able to copy documents. This driving me crazy, any help appreciated. thanks

Firewall is picking up the port Scanner Printer is using, change the Firewall to allow for that port

thank you woodchip, I have tried and failed to change the Firewall to allow for that port. Any further from anyone on how to do this would be appreciated. techtony

Many HP models, not sure about yours, will not scan wirelessly, though all other functions work.

For instance, my 6180 would not, my newer 8180 does.

The only way round it is a wired connection, either Ethernet or usb.

Try googling for some HP forums. You'll find others have had the same problem.

You could also try downloading a new copy of the software from the HP site.
