I normally click on the start button and get the choice of shutdown, restart or change user. But this morning when I just clicked on the start button I was not given those choices so how do I turn off the PC except by pressing the power button and why has this option dissapeared

What operating system are you using?.

I had a similar problem with Vista, and a couple of reboots did the trick. Never did find out why all was okay, then having the problem later.

Have they just slip below the bottom level of the screen because your screen resolution needs changing?

Search type

sfc /scannow

Sorry, ignore my last post, doesn't work for Windows 7.

Suggest system restore to immediately before the button went missing.

Also see Yahoo answers. What were you doing before this button disappeared?
