Unable to Transfer Files

  wingfield 14:46 14 Jun 04

I have a 2 computer home network. I can't transfer files from one to the other via windows explorer. I just get a message saying 'Access denied. Unable to move file *** check the disc isn't full'
I've looked in properties of the files and can't see anything checked.

I'm running XP Pro on one and XP Home on the other.

Check if

simple file sharing

is enabled on both computers.

Have you got Zonealarm on either, if so it's a good bet this is what is stopping it, just switch it off on both and as long as your network is set up right shold work then.

Did you try sharing a folder on each PC and going through My Network Places to access folders?

And double check permissions and XP's built in firewall.
