Windows XP Pro

Start the PC in Safe mode. Tap away at F8 or F5 whilst booting the pc.

In safe mode go My Computer. In the Tools menu choose Folder Options then choose the View tab and click in the radio button saying 'Show Hidden Files and Folders' then click OK.

Now Double click on the C Drive then Documents and settings then allusers then startmenu then programs then startup and delete anything there.

Try rebooting into windows.
