unable to get rid of this - 35HCF8YBRZ6U596Y.SDE

I have this old game which I have now deleted, however there is a file that won't go away, it is: 35HCF8YBRZ6U596Y.SDE

My Computer's OS is Win XP Professional and my File system is NTFS, I have tried deleting it, renaming it, I don't even know what a SDE file is, the game in question is Vampire the Masquerade: redemption.

The game was made for Win95/Win98 and it did work for the most part on my NTFS system.

I am at a loss, I even tried deleting it in dos shell, I also tried moving it, the file is not read only BTW and it is not ecrypted or hidden, I thought the file was responsible for not being able to reinstall the programe, but I deleted any reference to it in Regedit, of course I did make a back-up of the registry before doing that dangerous maneuver.
Hope you could help
