Unable to get my scanner installed

  mutantcamel 16:22 06 Feb 05

Hi I recently had my pc fixed and had to reinstall all the software and this included my flatbed scanner. At first it said some of the drivers were missing then I went to add scanner and it had miraculously appeard. I clicked on it and was told it was unable to communicate with the device. What's going on?

I also had Photosuite 3 pre-installed to use with the scanner but that appears to be missing and I can't find a cd with it on.

You may need to go to the scanners website to get the drivers updated.

I just tried installing the drivers but I don't know the specific make and model my scanner is. It's just a USB scanner, it's one which came free with my machine.

I tried getting a microsoft update but my machine didn't pick up that I need any new drivers.

I'm really confused!

Have a look on the underside or rear of the scanner it will telll you make and model number.

Post back here so we can find the drivers.

What operating system are you using? Win 98SE?
