Unable to get Adobe Flash player to work

  Morty10 04:05 01 Aug 06

I have the two following files on my computer
Adobe Flash Player 9 Active X 2.23 mb
(currently installed program)

Shockwave Flash Object Enabled ActiveX Control Flash9.ocx
(Internet Explorer Add On)

When I go to a Web site with flash content all i get is a empty space where flash content should be with a small box with an X inside.
I have uninstalled and installed several time with no success.
I think that my IE security and advanced internet options are correct.
I have Zonealarm internet security suite software.
I have tried Adobe Tech notes but no help.
Any suggestions

Have you run the uninstaller click here then rebooted. Then download the player click here .

I downloaded the uninstaller and installer on to my desktop ie saved instead of run. Went off line and ran the uninstaller and rebooted. Ran the installer then went online and opened my browser.Where flash is needed right click the coloured box on top left and click open. You should get a warning popup to ask if you wish to install flash 9 active x.
