How are you activating the firewall?
This is done through Internet Explorer.
1) choose internet options from the tools menu
2) choose the connections tab and click on settings
3)choose properties and click on the advanced tab
4)Enable the firewall by clicking in the square

The properties box is inactive and so will not allow me to get to the advance settings.
It is setup as my default connection and yet i can not go into properties and then to advance to get to activate the firewall??

open control panel, and double click on network connections.
choose your internet connection, and click on it.
from the network tasks, choose change settings of this connection.
From the resulting properties box choose the advanced tab.enable firewall.

If you cant get the properties up. I would advise you to re-install your ISP or get a free firewall like ZONE ALARM which is good. Be warned, when you install it, choose novice as your firewall knowledge question.
