Unable to access Freeserve home page

I can log on to the freeserve isp but only get a blank page displayed. Also, some other sites only display a blank page when I click on them from my favorites list.

I recently tried to update my Norton antivirus to Norton Internet security 2004 but the installation failed and so I reinstalled my old norton antivirus, could this be anything to do with the problem?

I'm running Windows 98se and IE 6.

Any help would be appreciated.

Search for a file called HOSTS in the C:\Windows folder. If you find this file open it in Notepad and look for a reference to the sites that you have trouble with. If you find them, rename the file as HOSTS.TXT and restart your computer.

Have renamed the hosts file but unfortunately its made no difference.

It'll be the Privacy or the Ad protection of NIS if I remember correctly, you have to change a setting somwhere. But I don't use NIS to tell you where to make this change.

Go to tools, internet options, general tab, make sure Freeserve is specified as your home page,
