Ultra dma-5 capable but disabled

  bogs 14:57 16 Sep 04

Ultra dma-5 capable but disabled appears on my startup screen. Following advice I have checked out Device Manager IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers and in advanced settings both devices 0 & 1 under transfer mode have dma if available selected.

I was told this would cure the problem, but it dobviously has no effect. Any ideas gratefully recieved along with whether this disablement matters or not.

Many thanks

Have you got 80 wire cables, these are required for UDMA. Note 80 wire cables NOT 80 Pin, they have the same connectors as 40 pin,
