Ububtu linux can't save to other partitions?

Folks,

problem is as title really...

I've installed Ubuntu, as a duel boot with win XP. Ubuntu can see my other drives, and open the files contained, but it can't save to them...

It seems that I don't have the correct permissions, but when I attempt to change the permissions, all is greyed out.

From Ubuntu's point of view, I am the only user, and am an administrator.

Can anyone advise what I need to do to be able to write to the other drives/partitions?

Thanks in anticipation,

Regards,

Simsy

I'm not sure I understood any of it... but it's worked!

At least I now have a system I can continue doing my basic tasks on, while I go through the process of reinstalling my XP system which has become very messy and slow over the past couple of months! Lots of upgraded/new software means a start from scratch is probably best!

Many thanks for the link! Why can I never find this stuff!!

Regards,

Simsy
