Re: Vista UAC now asking for password on Admin account
You can access the registry to change the local security settings. WindowsKey+R for Run - type regedit and OK:
you can modify User Account Control settings there. but BE CAREFUL.
in the registry there is a key called consentpromptbehavioradmin
this key controls what the UAC does when you are logged as an administrator
it can be;
1 enabled; asks for password
2 enabled; ask to click to continue
try it out. it works...
the great thing about controlling the UAC through the registry this way is that you don't have to reboot to make a change!
also- consentpromptbehavioruser is the same for a standard account.
another nice thing to change is promptonsecuredesktop. if you turn this to 0, it will no longer darken the screen and seize everything up. This makes UAC a little less annoying.
