Hello everyone, A friend's laptop has just started not displaying the typing cursor in email text when replying to a previous email thro' Gmail. I know nothing more to help you, but is it a common problem and/or does anyone know the answer, please?

Just to be clear, it is not the mouse arrow but the flashing upright bar typing cursor. I've looked on-line for an answer without finding anything explicit.

If your friend left clicks the mouse button on the top left of the reply box, does the flashing cursor show then?

No, rdave13, it doesn't. That's the problem, all the usual simple actions don't work. There's just no cursor.

Is this just in IE? Try compatibility mode or another browser.

Thanks rdave, we'll try that. R
