Hello everybody, some of you know i've got a new computer {win xp}, well, when i get my old one back,my wife wants to use it upstairs, just for the internet. My question is, as she has an email address on my new system, as does my sister and two of my dogs, can i plug the modem into the same telephone line, using a double telephone connector, as you would if you wanted to put another telephone in another part of the house?.Regards---JAR JAR.

Yes you can. Obviously, only one PC would be able to use the Internet at any one time using this method.

There are fairly easy ways of networking the 2 PCs so that either of them can use the internet at the same time, as well as share a single printer, transfer files between them, play a multiplayer game (PC1 vs PC2) etc.

If you would like advice on this, please let us know.
