TV wont support Pc

Hi I have recently upgraded my graphics card and gave my old one to my brother. After installing my old card into my brothers Pc, we decided to use his tv (exactly like mine) as a monitor. The problem is that the resolution modes in display properties only go up to 1024X800. This card worked fine on my TV (thecard does support upto 2560x1600 but is not showing in display properties for me to select...any suggestions? thanx

It could be that your brothers CPU is less powerful than yours, and therefore might not support the higher resolutions.

reload drivers for the graphics card

My cpu is core2duo 2.3 gz and my bro's is core2duo 2gz

did you load the drivers in your brothers computer?

CPU should be OK then.

Follow woodchips suggestion.

Right click on desktop

Choose Properties - Settings - Advanced - Monitor

Then untick the box that say "Hide modes that this monitor can't display"

Then see if you resolution is available - it should be.
