You may need to 'finalise' the disc on your dvd player before you can play it in anything else.

You may not have the correct codec to play on WMP.

Download a collection of codecs from click here

As flanagan says, you need to finalize the disc before it will play on another player. Finalize is in the recorder menu.

I had them same problem until someone on this forum siggested using Classic Media Player which seems to have the correct codecs in it's default installation click here and I no longer have any problems. CMP seems to play almost all formats.

Thank you all for your replies.
It was flanagans solution. I did not finalise the disc.
