TV display problem

I have a problem with my CRT TV. It is only about 6 years old, a Toshiba.

The picture has convex sides, i.e. they bulge out. This is the same whether satellite receiver, terrestrial digital receiver or straight analogue is being viewed.

After some 20 minutes the sides straighten out. During that time they change at random between perfect and convex.

Is it worth calling out a TV repair man?

i believe it would be as the cause is most likely to be poor solder connections ( dry joints ) which make contact as the set warms up and should be quite easily found.

Finally had a TV engineer look at my TV. He was unable to diagnose the fault and also contacted Toshiba technicians. This also drew a blank. I was told that normally the sides go concave when it goes wrong.

Only other possibility is for set to be taken to the workbench and parts exchanged until faulty part found. Long and labour intensive process with no guarantee of fault being found.

On the basis of this I will use the set for the time being unless it gets very much worse and does not right itself after the warm up.

In the meantime I am on the look out for a good deal on a new set.
