Turning off one of your processors

How do you do it? I have a 4800 X2 Arhlon dual core and having difficulty running LOTR Battle for middle earth 2. Would this solve the problem?

Sounds as if your graphics card or Power supply is not up to the job

Could you advise size of the PSU and what graphics card you have please

500W peak power supply and 7800gtx graphics card so no worries there, I run Oblivion and FEAR easily but my computer just decides to restart itself when I try and play LOTR, I read something ages ago on this website about turning off one of your processors because some games struggle when both are on but can't find it anywhere :(

"The only workaround I have seen so far is to assign the game to use only 1 CPU through task manager.

The issue seems to be linked to specific games, rather then configurations/drivers (but only seems to raise its head in dualcore systems). "
