Trying to migrate files to new PC

I'm using the file transfer wizard on XP.

Got the old and new PC's connected by serial. Got the wizard transfered onto old PC (Windows 95) using floppy.

Problem - old PC keeps crashing. Blue screen message "a fatal exception has occured at 0028:C1051C01 in VXD SERIAL (01) + 00000BF1A"

As I can't get past this, I can't copy the files. I guess that there's some problem with the serial connection...?

Any help appreciated

click here for decent advice regarding serial connections. You may just find it quicker to remove the drive from the W95 PC, place it in the XP PC as a slave, and copy the data across using Explorer - assuming you are OK with opening the case :)

If you would prefer that route, and need further advice on how to do so, feel free to post back.
