Trust UPS Power protector burns out PC supply unit

After using a Trust PW-4080T for about 3 months ( it served its purpose twice during power supply cuts) my PC suddenly lost its power and refused to start up.I needed to replace the PC's power supply unit since it was burnt out! After one hour the same problem occurred. I disconnected the UPS and the PC now seems to be fine. Have written to Trust helpdesk but not yet receuved a reply. Any thoughts?

Could be over-volts. Plug a 100 watt lamp into the outlet of the Unit and measure the voltage, should be a nominal 240v. Lower by about 10 volts wont matter but anything over 250 v needs attention.

in the end it was the fan which was not working and causing overheating>
