A friend of mine asked me if I could do anything with his computer! telling me that another friend of his had upgraded his system to Vista, from XP home and since then his dvd drive has not worked. I have checked the drive in Device Manager and it says that the drive is working properly, but, immediately under that it lists VOBID instant drive CD SCSI CD ROM device, and device manager tells me that the device cannot start error code 10. The system has no CD drive or any SCSI devices. I checked that the data cable was connected properly, retried the system and found that the drive played CDs and DVDs without any problem, however on retrying the system the following day, the problem had returned. I have change drivers for others on his system but the problem remains. Can anyone shed any light on this problem???
