Trouble installing GeForce 6200 graphics card

Hi,

I currently have an on board graphics card, which I have disabled in my control panel and bios.

I installed the GeForce 6200 card into a PCI slot and installed the windows drivers for it. However at the end of the installation, it asks me if I want to reboot.

When I do reboot, windows loads but the screen is completely blank, except for my mouse icon. The machine has completely frozen. This continues to happen until I uninstall those drivers.

I have booted up in safe mode, and the graphics card is installed with the relevant drivers, however the monitor seems to still be trying to use the onboard graphics card (when I right click desktop > properties).

I'd appreciate any suggestions!

Thanks

You somnetimes have to disable Anti Virus &/or Anti Spyware programs when installing graphics drivers. I don't know if this applies in your case. Were there any previous drivers for the onborad graphics that should have been removed before installing the new ?
