Trouble with audio device

Can anyone out there help? After having a number of problems with my cd-rom and cd-re writer which I thought I had rectified, I now find that I can't play music cd's.I can however use softwear cd,s from magazines etc.Every time I insert a music cd the following message shows on screen "Nero Media Player"- Can't open output audio device! I've tried removing and re-installing Nero but it does'nt solve the problem. AMD-K6. Windows 98se. Liteon cd-rom and cd-re writer. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks, Hecate.

Try downloading and installing WinAmp - it plays audio CDs (as well as other file formats) very well and is worth a shot.
