trojan.peacomm and NAV 2005

hi there

my PC (XP SP2) has been infected with this malware but norton 2005 cannot update itself fully to eliminate it.

whenever it tries and fails it comes directs me to this page :

and gives the following reference:

Reference #15.14893554.1169503597.2c803c89

AVG FREE edition is not recognising the file either???

any ideas?

For Norton Users - this page has manual removal instructions click here - if you cannot use live update you need to manually update your definitions first as detailed click here

This also involves switching off system restore, and at the end of the removal instructions says you may have to scan in safe mode.

I always think it is better to perform a full system anti virus and spyware scan running in safe mode as a lot of the troublesome ones will not load when you boot into safe mode.

yeah i know VoG. only installed AVG when i found NAV wasn't doing the trick.
