avg said i-worm had infected file"c:WINDOWS\SYSTEM\WINSERVICES.EXE".a screen came up saying access denied.i scanned the computer and it found 3 files infected,repaired them,now i cant use most of my programmes ,it keeps saying cant open, need this that or the other to open,any help please.

Thank you so much for all advice given on this site.We were at a loose end what to do but thanks to symantec download we are as good as new.We were worried about using it as the virus would not allow us to access safe mode or disenable the system restore( for xp )but we ran it anyway,keeping our fingers crossed.........and it worked!!!
