trojan dropper

I have acquired a trojan dropper virus on my laptop. It was identified by the Norton security system but cannot be deleted. It's a cab file.
Any ideas what to do to get rid of it?

I have never had to use it, so cannot guarantee, but worth a try.

Good Luck.

Thanks for the advice, unfortunately I have tried the norton anti virus and it cannot quarantine and delete the trojan because it has become embedded in a cab file in the ie5 folder

any other thoughts?

What's the problem following the instructions in G0lfer's link? You rebooted into Safe mode with networking and what happened?

This is a very old problem so the solution is well established. The removal instructions there should solve your problem, unless you actually have another problem.
