Trojan Byte.Verify ( how to remove)

  Edbanger 13:30 20 Apr 04

Can someone please tell me how to get rid of this.

I did a online scan this morning and these where picked up, yet a scan with Avg later failed to pick it up.

This is what the scan showed.

C:\Documents and Settings\eddie\Application Data\Sun\Java\Deployment\cache\javapi\v1.0\jar\ is infected with Trojan.ByteVerify

C:\Documents and Settings\eddie\.jpi_cache\file\1.0\Dummy.class-215a428b-501896c6.class is infected with Trojan.ByteVeri

As I don't have either of these,

Symantec AntiVirus and Norton AntiVirus,
how does your link apply?

I have been into Safe Mode, but there is only XP basic programs and no others.

How can I do a full system scan?

Sorry if I appear a dense, but this is the first time I have been into Safe Mode.

Just go to the zip file, right click and delete it. No need for safe mode.

the link shows you how your pc is infected. and what to look out for...

as bvw states, you simply need to delete the file if you can

My cousin found this bug when he did an on-line scan with Housecall from Trend Micro. He selected remove, which it did effectively.

Thanks for the help, I've used Housecall to find and delete the 2 files it found.
