Trial Running XANDROS from External HDD

I would like to try out the XANDROS Linux Distribution but I do not have space on my system.
Is it possible to run the program from a partition on an external HDD?

I don't think you can if its from the USB. Is there no chance of fitting the drive internally? Or even better to buy a new HDD to fit inside, they are very cheap now for a 20 or 30 GB HDD which is more than big enough for Xandros.

Thank you for that.

I am running a RAID 0 setup with two Seagate HDDs at the moment. However, I have gone off the idea of RAID 0 so I think I will backup the data on this arrray, restore the data to one disk and use the redundant disk for XANDROS.

I was unsure if the program would run independently from the USB external drive.

Many thanks.
