Trial Outlook 2003

  SURVEY 17:11 04 Nov 10

I presently run Outlook 2000 calendar and contacts (not interested in Outlook mail). I have a coy of MS Office 2003 and would like to trial Outlook 2003 as it will apparent;y sync easier with my Android smartphone. Can I just install Outlook from the 2003 disc without it erasing my present Outlook 2000?
Whatever HTC (my smartphone) say that their sync program syncs with Outlook 2000 - it just does not and at present I am having to sync my Outlook calendar with a google calendar which then does sync with my phone. It would be good to be able to sync directly - phone/Outlook and it would mean I can have my contacts on the phone also. Anyone done this successfully?

You can only have one version of Outlook. If you install Outlook 2003, the installer will remove Outlook 2000 but your calendar etc. will be preserved.

Outlook 2000 uses .pst files. Am I correct that the 2003 version uses another file format?

VoG - OK then. Camn I just install Outlook 2003 (accepting it will delete Outlook 2000)and nothing else. And will 2003 (assuming it does use a different file extension for data, rather than my present .pst) pick up my contacts and calendar?

2003 also uses .pst so yes, it will pick up everything.

Thanks VoG
