this is a pain, have scanned extensively and removed everything except
C:\autorun.inf
E:\autorun.inf
found using Trendmicro, the folder C:\RESYCLED which is supposed to house these 2 files has been removed but they remain
what they are supposed to do is stop me from opening hard drives in "my computer", which I still cant do
I think I will have to remove these files manually but am not that wise, have looked for them in "hidden files" but they are not there so how come Trendmicro can see them?
something is stopping me from opening hard drives in "my computer" and I would like some help to solve this prob please

Taken from another forum.

first run your system in safe mode, then go to your my computer properties and enable the system restore function.
then restart your computer and run in command prompt mode. in the command mode type the following.
ATTRIB Autorun.inf -H -S -R.
if the file is found in the Drive then give.
DEL Autorun.inf.
<similarly you can do it for all drives. but you have to restart your system for each drive.>
