Transferring Hard-drive

Hey
My old computer - running Win 98SE - has recently given up the ghost.
I want, however, to cannibalise the old one for parts, and one of the things I want to move over is my hard-disk.
I was just wondering if anyone knows if there is any way to do this and still hold onto the data stored on it.
Cheers

The data will remain on the drive unless you do something to remove it!

In theory, you can just remove the drive from your old machine, plug it in to a new one, and it should fire up as before.

by moving the drive to a new machine. Nevertheless, one of the golden rules of computing is that you should always back up important data files to removeable media before attempting anything like this.

You are better to set as slave not as master as the entire setup of the new computer will be different. ie motherboard sound graphics and so on
