transferring email data from win98 to win xp

I have a new windows xp computer, and want to transfer all my emails and email addresses from the old windows 98 computer. How do I do it, please?

What is the program you are using for your e-mail is it OE?

If so go to File/Export and from here you can export both the messages and your addresses to an external source, say a floppy disk.

To transfer many settings, pop the Windows XP CD into the old computer and "Perform additional tasks" when it loads up, then use the Transfer Files and Settings option to transfer many Outlook/Outlook Express and Internet Explorer settings (inc. connections to ISP), and many other files and settings for various programs.
