Can anyone advise the best way of transferring about 50Gb of assorted data from an existing external HD to a new one of greater capacity. There is not enough space on the PCs internal HD to use it as a temporary store. Any help or advice gratefully received.

Can you not connect the new drive as a slave inside the pc and then transfer data from external drive to new drive

This is just a guess.

If they are both usb.

Connect both to your PC > They should appear as separate drives > Copy > Paste.

Thanks for both replies. Drives are USB 2 connections - I will try wee eddie's suggestion.
