hi there, just got new laptop ( vista ) and want to copy music, photos and data from my desktop pc ( xp ). been told i need certain cables and need to confige some settings and also that there might be problems with the different operating systems.? but i thought i could just use my data stick and copy files onto that then transfer them to the laptop. it might take longer because its only 1gb and there are several gbs of data but it seems it might save alot of hassle? any advice much appreciated.
nb: any definate dates for vista sp1 or xp sp3 release?

You could put them on cd or dvd

Yes use the data stick unless you want to spend £ for no reason.

thanks for that replies, some of the cables aren't vista compatible yet and the one that is , is £15 so i might just use the money to buy a larger capacity memory stick, thanks for the info though.
