I am about to purchase a new system and would like to to transfer tapes to .Any advice as to what software would be useful and wether a sound card woukd be advantageouse would be more than welcome

I can reccomend the Audio Cleaning Lab 2004 Deluxe I use this myself to put all my vinyl onto CD's.It will automatically take all the hisses and crackles etc out for you or you can do it yourself.I

As for the sound card your new system most likely already has a sound card fitted , if not then post back here and we will find something suitable for your needs.
