I've just bought a new dell pc and I want to transfer all of my settings, documents & IE shortcuts from my old PC what is the best way to do this without setting up a home network?

Files and Settings Transfer Wizard in Start Menu/Accessories/System Tools.

..I didn't want to leave it to Windows to bring all the settings across and depending on how many custom settings you've made may not take long to re-setup.

That leaves documents and again it depends on volume....if you can burn a cd from your old pc and they fit on one, then that might be easiest..

I went the home network route cos I had card in both so was easy.
