Transfer the os.

I have 20 GB HD in my xp machine. I want to install a 120 GB HD and make it my main HD. ow do I transfer the data and the oerating system to the new HD so the PC boot from the new HD. Thanks a lot in advance

You will have to install the OS from bootable CD onto the new HDD first. After this is done, you can transfer your documents to the new drive. It will be easier if you temporarily use the old drive as a slave so that you can transfer the files to the new drive.

There are many ways,maybe the simple way is to d/load the makers utility,it will partition,format & copy.You would need to fit new HDD as slave then swap over to boot from the 120gb.
