Transfer music files to new PC

I recently bought a new PC & am currently transferring all files over. Only when I started transferring my music files, I realised I may have problems with the digital licences.

My fears were realised when I tried to play the music files on my new PC & Windows Media Player asked me to purchase a licence online. What am I supposed to do in this situation? Surely, there must be a way to transfer music files legitimately? Please help.

On the odd occasion I've done this I thought Windows Media Player nagged to back up licences which go into a folder within Documents & settings.
