transfer of HDD to another PC

Am intending to take out my slave HDD from one PC and put it as slave drive in another [no jumper changes needed.]

Can I do this by just disconnecting power and leads on one PC and connecting up to the other without losing data on the HDD?

Generally yes.

But backup is important as you never know.

Also file systems might come into play.

Tx for that Powerless, both PCs on WXP, both FAT32 [ I gather that FAT32 is better for image processing etc.]
