Touch-sensitive media controls being a bit dodgy

Got a HP DV9500 series laptop 2 weeks or so ago. Anyone who's familiar with it will know it has touch-sensitive media controls across the top, above the function buttons and below the speakers.
When I first got it, and muted the sound, the icon on the controls turned from blue to red, that has since stopped, which is not ideal, but I can live with it. However more recently some of the buttons have been double clicking when I only touch them once, especially the play/pause button which *can* be annoying. Would it be something I could fix, or if it persists should I get it fixed under guarantee?

An update on that - the double-clicking problem seems to have stopped.. for now.. but the mute button still isn't changing colour still, perhaps its the led (or whatever lights it) has blown? Would they sort this out under warranty?
