I have a Toshiba Satellite A100-756 running WinXP
The dvd multidrive has a problem, it works in that it ejects and light flashes when you put a cd / dvd in but then it just attempts continually to read it, you can hear a whirring noise, and then an error message comes up saying there is an I/O error issue. Tried alot of different music cds, data cds, dvds etc but no luck, same problem occurs. Drive appears under My Computer and check under the hardware properties shows all is OK device working properly under status box. Any ideas or do you think the optical reader is damaged. The laptop is new. Thanks

It look like the CD/DVD drive is bad you need to return it back to the company that you bought it from, or call and talk to their tech support see that the laptop is new
